- The problem:
-
- Atleast in 128,256,15K and 16K colors modes colornumbers
- 64-191 get a wrong color at every 8th pixel. So if I have
- a solid background using any color between the mentioned range
- I get a fullscreen vertical stripes every 8th pixel boundary.
-
- Stripes affect all graphics: lines, text, window borders,
- areafill and moving or static gfx. So if I draw a box (e.g.
- with color 64) the box gets those stripes and if I cut and
- paste the box it will then get the old stripes and new stripes.
-
- I checked it with DPaint, prefs/palette and photogenics
- programs. Due the lack of good 24bit pictures I'm not
- sure about 16M colors modes. Resolution didn't make any
- difference.
-
- The setup:
- A3000/030/882/25MHz/KS 40.68/WB 40.42 (doughterboard is v7/01)
- 2Mb chip/12Mb 32bit fast/4Mb 16bit fast
- Quantum & Dec HDDs & Nec CDROM (with external power)
- CV64 2Mb (SN 81xxxx and slowbuster on) and a balloon tube Nec3D
- 800x600x256 in use..
-
- CV stuff:
- libs: cybervision v1.38
- cyberlayers v40.8
- cyberintuition v40.30
- cvmode v1.5
-
- I got ..-install 2.15 (noticed the problem) and then
- installed 2.15 upgrade and no difference.
-
- I have already tried:
-
- clean startup (only the needed to make the system boot)
- clean wbstartup (same)
- no external SCSI devices
- no 16bit memory
- slowbuster on/off (jp1)
-
- On the other hand the system is _stable_. No strange crashes etc. The
- speedup was amazing.. so whatta f......?
